Noisy MCE600
Question:
HI
I purchased a DEltec MCE600 3 weeks ago from Urmston Aquatics, Manchester.
I am cycling my marine tank and have used the skimmer (back hung) for 3 days now.
It gives of a very bad hum and the intake pipe gurgles something rotten
I have been told by many forums that a silence kit is available free of charge from yourselves.

The skimmer is likely to be one of the new skimmers and should b fitted with the latest pump and dampening kits.
It is a 2000 lt/hour pump in the skimmer so it will not be deadly silent. Often the noise is actually resonance where the natural vibration of the pump causes something else to resonate - like a dashboard on the car vibrating at a certain speed.
By intake pipe do you mean the air inlet or the water inlet?
Check the tap in an open and closed position and see if it is still the same.
