Question:

How do I set dosing around the KH Manager tests?

Answer:

To get reliable stable test results from your KH Manager is it advisable to consider when additives that have a bearing on the KH and pH are added to the aquarium.

If a KH buffer is added as the KH Manager is taking a sample of aquarium water for the test then it would be possible to get an abnormal reading and not a true indication of the actual KH levels in the main body of water, this would be true of any additive affecting KH or PH.

When setting up dosing or testing times we would advise that any KH or pH additions are done no closer than 20 minutes before the test starts. Likewise a dose can be done when the test process is underway as long as it is after the test sample has been taken, this will depend on the number of beaker flushes and it would be best to observe the KH Manager performing a test to determine this point.

It is recommended that the saltwater inlet for the KH Manager is kept away from the outlet of any dosing line or the waste water outlet from the KH Manager. In most situations it is best to have the saltwater inlet just after a prefilter where water flows in to the sump and any outlets downstream of this in a separate chamber with high flow.
