Question:

How do I store my KH Manger calibration solutions?

Answer:

It is important that any calibration solutions are correct, if they are not then it will cause the KH Manager to give incorrect results.

PH calibration solutions should be kept sealed, cool and in a dark location. Once a bottle is opened and the factory seal broken the solutions will start to drift away from the calibration point due to contact with atmosphere. It is recommended that any bottle that has been open for more than 6-8 weeks is disposed of and fresh solutions used. Reagents that come in sealed sachets should be disposed of immediately after use.

Care should be taken not to contaminate the solutions by either decanting them into another container or by dipping a probe in to them that is unclean or has drops of liquid on it. If the solutions need to be decanted to use for calibration then they should be added to a suitable glass container that is completely clean, free of any possible contamination and dry, when tipping the liquid do not pour it from a height as the agitation can aerate the solution and render it inaccurate.

When performing calibrations it is necessary to warm any solutions to the correct temperature.
