Question:
I have just purchased a Nero 5 and every now and then it seems to get noisy?
Answer:
There are several factors that can cause a new pump to be noisy.
- The moving components of a new pump can be a snug fit and new bearings can take a few days to a week to bed in, this is normal.
- When the pumps are new and set on a long pulse or in constant mode the surface tension of the new plastics can allow air to collect inside the back of the stator near the bearing and cause the pump impeller to get into a slight wobble. We recommend setting the pump to a shorter pulse, e.g. 3 seconds on 3 seconds off, as this will help to eject the air. Once the pump has been in operation for a week or so the program can be changed back to a long pulse or constant mode if desired.
- The new components can have food grade silicone grease on them sometimes this can block the four front impeller holes and air will not be able to exit from the front of the impeller. Please see the video in the following link on how to resolve this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFa6i3MEWmo&feature=youtu.be
- The pump or its cable may be vibrating against something.
