Question:

Is it possible to calibrate the KH on the KH Manager?

Answer:

An offset can be calibrated into the KH Manager if the end test results given are believed to be incorrect for some reason, i.e. if the test results from the machine are 7.6dKH but the KH is known to be 7.8dKH. If this calibration adjustment is used the KH Manager will automatically compensate for this during each test. Please note if there is a large difference, +/- 0.5dkh or more, then it is recommended to re-calibrate and check the pH probe, saltwater supply pump and that the reagent is mixed properly/not contaminated before taking this step as well as confirming the KH reading from the alternative testing method is correct.

Before this calibration can be done the KH Manager must have performed a recent KH test, if there has not been a recent test a warning will appear on the screen and the calibration will not be allowed. If this warning is shown perform a test with the KH Manager before commencing with this calibration.

It is advisable to have performed 3 or more KH tests after changing the reagent or performing any calibration/maintenance on the KH Manager to check the readings are stable before performing any KH calibration.

How to perform the calibration

  1. Log into the Kamoer Remote app and select the tile icon for your KH Manager. Then go to ‘Settings’ in the bottom right, Maintain / Calibration / KH.
  2. To begin tap on ‘Go to calibrate’ in the app.
  3. The KH Calibration page will show the result of the last test at the top of the page, select the text bar underneath and enter your known KH value in dKH, followed by ‘Done’. When entering the value it will only accept a dot (.) in the number not a comma (,) e.g. 8.5 must be entered not 8,5.
  4. Tap on the highlighted Calibrate bar to confirm. To exit the KH calibration without saving a change select the blue arrow in the top left corner.
  5. The app will display a confirmation page, choose ok ‘Ok’ exit and finish.
