If the booster pump is not perfoming as well as normal there are a few things that are worth checking.

• Check that the water supply to the booster pump is fully open and not restricted. If this is the case it may starve the booster pump and it will not be able to boost the pressure.
• The pump head may need replacing. These contain a diaphram, simular to an air pump, this can stretch or split after a perod of time and wear out. This is readily available as a spare part and is easy to replace by undoing the 3 fixing screws that hold it in place.
• The flow restrictor or reverse osmosis membrane need replacing. If the flow restrictor or membrane is allowing more water through the pump will not be able to build the pressure. If the TDS of the RO unit is coming out high it will confirm these need replacing. The flow restrictor tap must also be closed in the operating position, not in the flush position.

It is very important that the booster pump is never dead ended, this can damage the head prematurely. If the water supply is switched off or the output pipes from the RO blocked by a float or taps it will dead end the pump.
